City of Easton Trash Service
Place trash and recycling curbside the night before your pickup day no earlier than 5:00 pm.
Each household may place the equivalent of up to (4) four 32-gallon containers curbside per week. No single bag or container may exceed 40 lbs and must be able to be safely handled by one person.
- Trash must be placed curbside in a secured manner (bags or containers with tight fitting lids) to prevent litter and clogging of storm drains.
- A proper garbage bag is defined as a minimum size 30-gallon black garbage bag of sufficient ply to resist tearing.
- White kitchen garbage bags, and grocery store plastic bags, must be secured within a proper garbage bag or container.
- Construction & Demolition material: you can substitute (1) 32-gal container of waste with C&D. No more than 40lbs and lumber must cut into 3ft or smaller sections.
Please contact our office to schedule additional trash over the included limit.
Do not dispose of tires, hazardous wastes, batteries, liquid paint, motor oil, auto parts, chemicals, or any other unacceptable refuse.
Trash & Recycle Containers
Whitetail Disposal does not provide trash or recycling container to residents of Easton City.
Recycle containers (20 gallons) are available to residents of the city for $10 at Easton City Hall.
Bulk Items
Common household bulk items include, but are not limited to, furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, wrapped mattresses, etc.) and appliances (washer, dryer, stove).
Bulk does not include:
- Construction Debris
- Hazardous Waste
- Electronic Waste
Additional items may be scheduled for a fee.
How to Schedule
Contact our Municipality Department by 12pm the day prior to your service day to schedule:
Freezer, Refrigerator, Air conditioner, dehumidifier, water cooler:
- Must be certified as Deactivated Free of CSC’s and HCFCs.
- All doors must be removed prior to pick up.
Please contact us to schedule.
For our employees’ safety:
- Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic.
- Toilets must be bagged.
Recycling Services
Recyclables must be clean and dry.
Do not bag recyclables.
Recyclable material must be inside your recycling container to be collected.
Acceptable Items
All bottles and containers must be rinsed clean and dry.
Dirty recycling is contaminated recycling.
Shredded paper cannot be recycle. It clogs the recycling sorting line.
If paper is soiled or wet, compost or trash it.
Must be broken down.
If cardboard is soiled, compost or trash it.
Make sure containers are rinsed out and completely empty to avoid contamination.

Unacceptable Items
Plastic bags are not accepted as part of curbside recycling programs – they get tangled in equipment and threaten worker safety.
Plastic bags can be recycled at most grocery stores.
Plastic wrap, bubble wrap, sandwich bags and freezer bags should not go in the recycle bin.
Reuse whenever possible for presents, moving, or storage of similar items, or look for local options to recycle.
Flexible packaging like chip bags and juice or soup pouches cannot be recycled in curbside programs.
This type of packaging is made from multiple materials preventing it from being recycled.
Food and yard was cannot be recycled through our curbside program.
Compost or utilize UMT’s yard waste program.
Polystyrene foam, plastic “to-go” containers and cups are made of non-recyclable materials, and are not acceptable in the curbside recycling program.
Packing peanuts aren’t recyclable either, however some shipping stores will take peanuts back for reuse.
Recycling Center
The City’s Recycling Drop-off Center hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. The center is closed when City Hall is closed for holidays.
Patrons should drive carefully through the complex and follow the designated recycling lane that will lead to the drop-off center.
Yard Waste and Leaves
Plant material (leaves, branches, brush, flowers, roots, etc.) and debris commonly thrown away in the course of maintaining yards and gardens.
Yard Waste does Not include:
- Soils and sod
- Food waste, including food waste from gardens or orchards; food compost
- Plastics and synthetic fibers
- Lumber and any wood or tree limbs over six (6) inches in diameter
- Human or animal excrement
- Noxious weeds and soil contaminated with hazardous substances

Equivalent of 2 bags or 2 cans of brush and yard waste, no more than 40 lbs. each, may be dropped off at the city recycling center. There is no limit on leaf drop-off. No grass clippings will be accepted.
Bags or containers of yard waste including leaves or grass clippings may be substituted (on a volume basis) for up to two cans of refuse but will be counted as part of the overall 4-can limit.
Limited to 2 bundles of brush
- Bundled together in no more than 3’x 2’ piles and weighing no more than 40 lbs each.
Special rules and instructions may apply, it is recommended to call Drop-Off locations before visiting.
Proof of residency is required. Some municipalities may require purchase of an ID card, or fees may be associated with dropping off material, contact you municipality for questions.
Items not accepted as Yard Waste: railroad ties, telephone poles, pressure treated wood, lumber, construction materials, rocks, stone, brick, cinder block, concrete, plywood, treated fence post or fence, plastic/synthetic material, manure, plastic bags.
