All You Need to Know About

Trash Service Kenhorst Borough

Whitetail Disposal is proud to partner with Kenhorst Borough to provide weekly trash and recycling service to it’s residents.
  • Up to four (4) thirty-five (35) gallon bags not to exceed forty (40) pounds per container.
  • Please make sure to have your waste curbside Tuesday night for collection on Wednesday.

We cannot take:

  • Hazardous waste including radioactive, reactive, toxic, ignitable, corrosive, or acidic items.
  • E-waste including televisions, computers, etc.
  • C & D including materials resulting from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations.

Bulk Waste

Each residential property may place out bulk items or extra bags after purchasing a bulk trash tag from Borough Hall.

Annual bulk pickup day: October 1st, 2025

  • This does not include construction debris: waste building materials resulting from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations. This also does not include electronic waste.

Mattresses and Toilets

For our employees’ safety:

  • Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic.
  • Toilets must be bagged.

 

Fall Bulk Collection

  • Up to 5 items per house hold may be placed curbside during this collection (no C&D or E-waste)
  • Collection will occur on October 1st, 2025.

How to Schedule

A bulk trash tag must be purchased at Borough Hall ($13 each) for extra containers, bags and small bulk items.

Recycling Services

Recyclables must be clean and dry.

Do not bag recyclables.

If your recycling is contaminated it will be handled as trash.

Acceptable Items

 All bottles and containers must be rinsed clean and dry.

Dirty recycling is contaminated recycling.

Shredded paper cannot be recycle. It clogs the recycling sorting line.

If paper is soiled or wet, compost or trash it.

Must be broken down.

If cardboard is soiled, compost or trash it.

Make sure glass containers are rinsed out and completely empty to avoid contamination.

Unacceptable Items

Plastic bags are not accepted as part of curbside recycling programs – they get tangled in equipment and threaten worker safety.

Plastic bags can be recycled at most grocery stores.

Plastic wrap, bubble wrap, sandwich bags and freezer bags should not go in the recycle bin.

Reuse whenever possible for presents, moving, or storage of similar items, or look for local options to recycle.

Flexible packaging like chip bags and juice or soup pouches cannot be recycled in curbside programs.

This type of packaging is made from multiple materials preventing it from being recycled.

Polystyrene foam, plastic “to-go” containers and cups are made of non-recyclable materials, and are not acceptable in the curbside recycling program.

Packing peanuts aren’t recyclable either, however some shipping stores will take peanuts back for reuse.

Whitetail Disposal has partnered with Kenhorst Borough to provide a yard waste disposal program

Bags of yard waste may be placed out in place your standard MSW containers/bags each week between March 15 and Dec 15th.

  •  Leaves, branches (1-1/2″in diameter & 3′ long) and shrubbery.
  • All leaf/yardwaste must be contained in brown bio-degradable bags

Must be placed in bio-degradable bag on your normal garbage day.

  1. Breakdown and flatten all boxes.
  2. Stack boxes neatly.
  3. Secure with tape or twine.

Bundles should be 4′ long x 1′ thick or less.

One (1) bundle per week can be put out next to the recycling cart.

If you have anything unusual like construction material, paint cans, or appliances, please contact us first and we may be able to help you find a way to get rid of theses items.
